Did you know that.....MRHS
began as an annex of Quezon City High School. The first building was the Narcissus Building (now used as housing by some MRHS
faculty) at the back of the elementary school. I think Mrs. Inez was the first head teacher then afterward, the first principal.
(All of these info may be found in the first few issues of The Trailblazer) Mrs. Tena was one of the firstteachers and she
was the first adviser of The Trailblazer. It was named Manuel A. Roxas High School in honor of the Philippine President who
gave his name to what was then known as government housing Project I (di ba may Proj. 2, Proj. 4) yung Roxas District was
Project 1. After the school population grew, the school moved to the dug-outs of the Amoranto Stadiumwhere it stayed until
1977. The whole stadium was the MRHS campus, some parts of its though were shared with the training quarters for the QC police.
Thus the stadium always smelled unpleasantly of piss. It was not until 1975 during the advent of Imee Marcos' Kabataang Barangay
that the gymnasium was refurbished which was the venue for the first junior and Senior prom during the Martial law years in
MRHS, that of batch 78. Hope I can share more trivia about MRHS.

Did you know: (This one is for batch 82 up) Before, the only school
building that was being used was the "Annex" building in Lilac Street (now a temporary housing for teachers), in 1971. MRHS
was allowed to temporarily occupy the Amoranto Stadium, for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th years to hold classes there. The bleachers
were used for some subjects, and in 1976 the new L-Shape bldg. at the corner of Chuatoco and Reyes sts., which is being used
upt o now. At present the school have a 6 2storey high buildings and a covered court in the center.
